********************************************************************** Tac32Plus for Windows 95/98/ME/NT4/2000/XP/2003/8/9/10/11 README.TXT Copyright (c) 1997 - 2026 CNS Systems, Inc. ********************************************************************** Tac32Plus NOTES ********************************************************************** This README.TXT file covers late-breaking news and recent release notes for Tac32Plus software. ********************************************************************** RELEASE NOTES ********************************************************************** Version 2.7.39, Sep 6, 2026 ================================== - Synergy SSR receivers work in Motorola NMEA mode at any supported data rate (SSR-XC16 firmware V4.21 or later), a data-rate change takes two to three seconds instead of a receiver restart, 14400 baud works, and a failed change can no longer leave the receiver and the saved settings at different rates. - Signal strength is shown as C/No in dB-Hz, the value the receiver measures (readings about 20 higher than before). - The Satellite Az-El Chart draws every constellation, marks SBAS satellites as diamonds, and can be resized. - The status bar shows the constellations the receiver is tracking, and the Satellite Selection boxes follow the receiver's own rules. - The serial port settings dialog opens on the mode's default data rate with the current settings in bold; a first start comes up on COM3 in a window sized to fit. - Help opens in your web browser, sharp on any screen, with new pages and new screen shots; F1 opens the page for the current window. - Help / Check for Updates finds, verifies and installs new versions (once a day automatically; it can be turned off). - Registration no longer fails when the disk serial number cannot be read, the About box has the current telephone number, the Windows NT service option is gone, and the installer is signed by CNS Systems, Inc. Details: Motorola NMEA mode now works with the Synergy SSR series receivers at any supported data rate (SSR-XC16 firmware version 4.21 or later is required for NMEA mode on the SSR series). Three changes cooperate: 1. The Motorola receiver search now probes each mode at the rate selected in the serial port settings dialog and at the rate that was in use before the settings were last changed, in addition to the classic Motorola rates (NMEA 4800, binary 9600). An SSR receiver holding a commanded rate is found where it actually is, and the connection then continues at that rate. 2. When switching an SSR receiver into Motorola NMEA mode, Tac32Plus commands the receiver to the dialog's data rate after the receiver has been found and identified, so NMEA runs at the selected rate. Previously no rate information was sent during NMEA mode changes, and a receiver at any rate other than the expected one was lost. 3. Responses to NMEA commands are now recognized with any talker ID (for example $GPZDA and $GNZDA), accommodating multi-GNSS receivers. 4. Changing only the data rate while staying in the same Motorola mode (binary or NMEA) on an SSR receiver now takes a fast path: the rate command is sent directly, the receiver confirms at the new rate, and the session continues uninterrupted (2 to 3 seconds, no receiver re-initialization). If the receiver does not confirm, the full setup runs automatically. The binary fast path requires SSR-XC16 firmware V4.21+, which fixes a long-standing receiver quirk where the @@Wb reply was cut off by the rate change itself. 5. After commanding @@Wb, Tac32Plus now waits for the SSR to finish reconfiguring its serial ports before identifying the receiver, and the identification response window no longer expires early. Previously most rate changes fell into the full receiver search. 6. 14400 baud now works with the SSR receivers in both Motorola binary and NMEA modes (with SSR-XC16 firmware V4.21+, which also corrects 14400 being silently configured as 9600). Rates below 4800, and 115k, are not supported by the SSR hardware; selecting one leaves the receiver at its current rate. 7. Rate changes between related rates (38400/19200, 9600/4800) are now reliable: the brief interval while the receiver and the port run at different rates produces data that can imitate real messages, and the fast path now lets the stream settle and verifies with a retry before trusting the new rate. 8. The serial port settings dialog now grays out the unsupported data rates for Motorola NMEA mode the same way it always has for Motorola binary, and 14400 is selectable in both Motorola modes. 9. View / View GPS Data has a new "Both" item that opens the Raw Data and Receiver ID Message windows together. 10. The serial port settings dialog now opens with the selected mode's default data rate bulleted (Motorola binary 9600, Motorola NMEA 4800, and so on), exactly as when the mode dropdown is changed, so OK commands exactly what the bullet shows - while the session's current rate is shown in bold. When they are the same the bulleted item is simply bold. The other port characteristics (PPS signal, handshake, stop bits, parity, data bits) show their current setting in bold the same way, and the dialog was widened slightly so the bold text fits. The auto-restart preference is kept. Genuine Motorola receivers are unaffected and run NMEA at 4800 baud as always. For Motorola VP6 receivers, the signal-strength to C/N0 conversion is now applied the same way as for the PVT6, XT and VP models. Corrected overlapping GPS and MSL altitude fields in the Nav Data window. The satellite display covers the whole constellation set: 1. Signal strength is reported as C/No in dB-Hz - the value the receiver measures - and the column is labeled C/No. Earlier versions subtracted a fixed offset and called the result Eb/No, which was right when Tac32Plus only ever showed GPS L1 C/A at 50 bits per second, but no single offset can be right across today's signals: Galileo E1 carries 125 bits per second, Beidou's geostationary satellites 500, and pilot components carry no data at all. Readings rise by about 20 compared with 2.7.38, and the bar scale moves from 0-40 to 15-55. SSR-XC16 V4.21 and SSR-128 V3.85 separately corrected the receiver's own C/No, which had been reported 3 dB high, so do not compare this display against older screen shots. 2. Every tracked satellite is listed, and one with a weak signal draws a short bar rather than none at all. 3. The Satellite Az-El Chart draws the extended constellations. It had only ever plotted satellite numbers 1 to 32, so GPS looked right while Beidou (33-64 and 159-163), GLONASS (65-96), SBAS (120-158), QZSS (193-197) and Galileo (211-246) satellites were received, tracked and listed but never drawn. 4. SBAS satellites draw as a smaller magenta diamond instead of a star: they are geostationary and neither rise nor set. 5. Elevation and azimuth are held per satellite number. This corrects readings appearing against the wrong satellite, a stray point at the center of the chart, and a twelve-satellite limit on the geometry taken from @@Bb. 6. A satellite with no Doppler measurement shows no rising or setting arrow rather than a false one, and direction is otherwise taken from the satellite's own elevation trend. 7. The Satellite Az-El Chart window can be resized and maximized. 8. In position hold the DOP fields read "DOP not available" instead of 100.0. Motorola NMEA mode with multi-GNSS receivers: 1. Satellite views from several constellations are merged instead of overwriting one another, and NMEA satellite numbers are remapped to the numbering the rest of the program uses, so the table holds still and the chart agrees with it. 2. GSV satellite numbers 33 to 64 are labeled SBAS. 3. The satellite count is labeled "Used", which is what the GGA sentence reports. 4. Antenna status from the receiver's NMEA output is displayed. 5. Motorola NMEA mode is offered only where the receiver's firmware provides it (SSR-XC16 V4.21 and later). An older receiver is told so plainly instead of being left in a mode it cannot use. 6. Receiver mode settings are applied while in NMEA mode without a full re-initialization. 7. A mode change made while the receiver is running no longer wedges the receive framer, and short NMEA 4.1 GSV sentences are decoded. Constellation selection: 1. The status bar shows the constellations the receiver is tracking, immediately left of the survey status. The text is built from the receiver's own @@Sc reply, so it cannot disagree with what the receiver adopted, and it is blank for receivers that do not report one. 2. The Satellite Selection boxes follow the rules the receiver enforces: GLONASS and Beidou cannot be tracked at the same time, QZSS is only available together with GPS, and one constellation must always be selected. A box that a rule forbids is grayed rather than offered and then refused. 3. The Galileo box is grayed when the receiver's GNSS module cannot track Galileo. Serial port and start-up: 1. A commanded data rate change followed by a failed receiver search is undone, so the receiver and the saved settings cannot be left at different rates - which showed itself as "GPS Receiver not found" on every later start. 2. The Motorola binary receiver search also probes 4800 baud. 3. A first start with no saved settings comes up in Motorola binary at 9600 baud on COM3, in a window sized to fit its contents. COM1 was the previous default and no longer exists on most machines, and the window was previously given a fixed size that truncated the display. Windows, dialogs and help: 1. The status bar no longer goes blank until the window is resized. 2. The Manual Command window accepts command parameters as ASCII beside the existing hexadecimal field, in fixed-width fields that overtype, and covers the NMEA mode properly. 3. The Raw Data window no longer stops responding when scrolled back toward the bottom. 4. F1 opens the help, which had silently done nothing. 5. The help carries new screen shots of every window. 6. Toolbar buttons describe themselves in their tool tips. The status bar line those descriptions used to share with "For Help, press F1" now carries the constellation display. 7. The degree and copyright characters in the About box and elsewhere are correct again. Logging: 1. The PVT log header records the receiver and its firmware SOFTWARE DATE. 2. If the receiver stops sending @@Bb satellite data while a session is otherwise alive, Tac32Plus asks for it again rather than showing stale satellite geometry. Automatic upgrades: Help / Check for Updates asks gpstime.com whether a newer version has been published, shows what changed, and downloads, verifies and installs it. An automatic check runs at most once a day and can be turned off. A version can be skipped. Registration: a machine whose disk volume serial number cannot be read at that moment no longer starts as UNREGISTERED. The serial is read with retries, the first one ever read successfully is remembered, and that value is used when a later read fails. Help: the help now opens in your web browser instead of the Windows HTML Help viewer, so its pages and pictures are sharp on any screen, including high-resolution displays where the old viewer was blurred. Help Topics opens the contents; F1 opens the page for the window or command in use, and every page carries links to the contents and the index. The pages are installed in the help folder beside the program and are the same pages GPS Time shows; the Tac32Plus.chm file stays as a fallback for an installation without them. Help content: new pages on the Synergy SSR receivers, satellite systems (choosing constellations, the rules the receiver enforces, satellite numbering, SBAS), the C/No signal-strength column, Motorola NMEA mode, Check for Updates, registration, the PVT data log format and getting started; the Az-El chart, status bar, serial port and mode-selection pages brought up to date, with new screen pictures throughout; the contents reorganized by subject. The Windows NT, Windows 95 and generic window-handling pages are gone, and the three still-relevant Windows setup notes (permission to set the clock, the serial-mouse mistake, synchronizing other computers) are rewritten for Windows 10 and 11. Removed: the option to run as a Windows NT service (the -install command line switch). The code behind it had been disconnected for years and the help page described a feature that no longer existed. About box: the telephone number is current (the old Maryland number and fax line are gone) and the copyright notice reads 2026, in the dialog, the splash screen and the file's version information. Version 2.7.38, Jun 29, 2025 ================================== For 53220A and 53230A time interval counters, change the command "SYST:COMM:TCP:CONT?" to "SYST:COMM:LAN:CONT?". While these commands produce similar results, the LAN command is the only one shown in the counter's manual. For 53220A and 53230A time interval counters, change the commands INP1:NREJ and INP2:NREJ from ON to OFF. This is based on a warning in the "Keysight 53220A/53230A User’s Guide" 9018-03351.pdf, section "Noise rejection (hysteresis)", paragraph "Time interval errors". For 53220A and 53230A time interval counters, it is recommended that users consider manually setting the "User-defined power-on states" to enable recall at power-on based on a state saved after Tac32Plus initializes the counter. Based on field experience, it is not recommended to use "automatic recall" but rather use recall of a specific saved state. Tac32Plus could set this up but it is not clear that all users would want Tac32Plus to make changes to the counter's state memories. Version 2.7.37, Apr 28, 2025 ================================== Add additional NMEA messages that are recognized by Tac32Plus. Add a PPS marker in the raw GPS log. Recognize the new "++" class of Synergy GPS modules. These have a microprocessor with 256K of program memory. Support GPS modules with up to 12 digit serial numbers. Support TIC log file names with long name prefixes instead of just four characters. This provides more flexibility in identifying TIC sources such as having two masers with 324KK and 321KK for the filename prefixes, There is no longer a limit to the size of the prefix so you could enter "The_Maser_in_the_Blue_Room_" as a prefix. Improved the automatic setup for the 53220A and 53230A time interval counters in SerialPortThreads.cpp. Version 2.7.36, Mar 18, 2024 ================================== Added support for decoding the @@Eq message For NMEA messages that are not decoded, allow printing in the raw data window and logging so all NMEA messages can be viewed. Version 2.7.32, October 31, 2022 ================================== Correct the identification of GPS module firmware version numbers. The SSR series GPS modules changed the way they report this information starting with SSR firmware version 3.55. Incorrect version number identification effects certain internal features like whether to activate the short PPS feature for some receivers. Version 2.7.31, July 4 2022 ================================== Implement support for the new @@SP "Second PPS Rate" command and response. This sets the secondary PPS to frequencies between 1Hz and 1MHz for SSR-128 receivers that support this feature (some hardware with firmware version 3.55 and above). When using the @@Sc manual command, make the Satellite Selection part of the GPS Mode Selection window and the saved data track any changes. Version 2.7.30, September 26, 2020 ================================== When in UBX binary mode, correct the mode settings and transitions between Navigation, Position Hold (0D) and Survey. Note that when terminating a survey early, the mode will return to position hold before it can be set to navigation, regardless of the command settings. Version 2.7.29, May 16, 2020 ================================== Correct the calculations used to resolve the automatic sawtooth correction add vs. subtract determination. Code cleanup - Eliminate unused variables. Version 2.7.28, February 11, 2020 ================================== Improve the decoding of @@Bn and @@En messages. Version 2.7.27, November 9 2019 ================================== Revise the decoding of special emulation modes for the SSR series receivers and add a new mode. Version 2.7.23, October 9, 2018 ================================== Many minor bug fixes. Added support for legacy Motorola commands and messages, including @@Aa, @@Ab, @@Ac, @@Ad, @@Ae, @@AF and @@En. Support both long and short versions of UBX MON-HW messages. Corrected the logic for going from u-blox modes to Motorola binary mode. Add a decoder for the UBX-TIM-DOSC message. Add a "-- PPS --" tag to the raw data dialog. Version 2.7.22, February 19, 2017 ================================== Provide support for the TAPR TICC time interval counter. Correct an error that caused the TIC serial port to start with default parameters (baud rate, etc.) instead of the saved parameters. Version 2.7.21, October 07, 2016 ================================== Corrected an error introduced in the previous version that incorrectly identified the SSR-6Tr and SSR-6Tf receivers as SSR-M8T. This resulted in some inappropriate features being activated. Version 2.7.20, October 02, 2016 ================================== Add satellite constellation selection for SSR-8 GNSS receivers. This allows selection of GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou, QZSS and/or SBAS (WAAS, etc.). Implement the Leap Indicator (LI) sub-field in the first word of the NTP protocol message. Add automatic polling for leap second data when in uBlox binary mode (UBX). Decode the @@Cb almanac data message so it can be displayed and logged. For SSR (uBlox) series receivers when in UBX binary mode: - Reset the Date/Time/PPS alignment source to UTC on initialization. - Timing setup delays are now working. - Activate the 1 / 100 PPS selection mode when in UBX binary mode. Note: these receiver modules are used in most CNS Clock II units since sn 404293 in Jan 2013. Set the main screen to full size for initial installation. Enable dynamic mode settings for SSR (uBlox) receivers in both Motorola and UBX binary modes. Auto select based on navigation vs. position hold and self-survey. Separate the identification of the SSR-6Tf and SSR-6Tr receiver variants and add identification of SSR 'Plus" receivers so further feature conditioning can be done. Improved the firmware upload capability for the SSR Plus series receivers. Set "Load reference location on program startup" in the "Set Reference Location" manual entry dialog to checked (true) on first use after installation. Add an auto-restart switch that restart messages on an SSR series receiver if they stop unexpectedly as some SSR receivers do not restart their messages after a power interruption. This selection will also detect a long period of no valid results and issue a reset to the GPS module followed by a self-survey command to automatically start a receiver correctly when it has been moved far enough to get confused about its location. Version 2.7.19, Aug 03, 2015 ================================ Added the @@Wq "Change SW Part Number" command for the SSR receivers. Version 2.7.18, July 14, 2015 ================================ Added the @@Wp "Change HW Part Number" command for the SSR receivers. Version 2.7.17, June 03, 2015 ================================ Allow the Motorola protocol receivers in binary mode to be correctly identified at any baud rate selected in the serial port setting dialog. For SSR-M8 series receivers be sure SBAS always is turned off for position hold mode and on for navigation mode. Set the default baud rate for SSR series receiver's UBX modes to 57600 to match the new features in the V2.17 SSR firmware. When switching SSR receiver modes ensure the @@Wb command is sent before changing the serial port characteristics. Change the antenna status "Ant NV Short" (in Red) to "Ant No Pwr" (in Yellow). Do not turn on @@Ek during initialization unless the receiver is an 8-channel model, not desired for 6 or 12 channel receivers. Version 2.7.16, April 13, 2015 ================================ Update the decoding of @@Ca and @@Fa self-test messages and include the SSR receivers in the decode list. Update the decoding of @@Bk and @@Ek messages to show DOP values. Update decoding of @@Ws. Added the @@Wm "Change Model Number" command for the SSR receivers. Accommodate free format model numbers when searching for the receiver type. The correct type will be identified even if it is surrounded by other characters in the model number field. Corrected the detection of leap second pending status for newer model receivers using Motorola format @@Gj message instead of the older @@Bj message. Version 2.7.15, March 24, 2015 ================================ Correct an indexing error in the manual command dialog window. This primarily impacts the SSR-6T series receivers but it also permits greater flexibility in managing these lists in the future. Version 2.7.14, March 22, 2015 ================================ Label all satellite types in the signal strength bars. This is especially useful in multi GNSS receivers such as the SSR-6T, SSR-M8F and SSR-M8T receivers. Eliminate references to uBlox LEA6T where these references properly apply to all supported uBlox-based receivers, LEA-6T-0, LEA-6T-1, LEA-M8F and LEA-M8T. Version 2.7.13, March 15, 2015 ================================ Correct the exponential scale factor calculation and normalization for very small time values, less than 100 nanoseconds. This applies to Time interval counters using scientific of engineering notation, such as the Berkeley Nucleonics Model 1105. Improve handling of firmware upload function for SSR receivers. Add version number to the main frame title bar. Version 2.7.12, Febuary 16, 2015 ================================ Add support for the new SSR-M8F and SSR-M8T receivers Added @@Sx commands to support the new SSR-M8F and SSR-M8T receivers. Correct the processing of the @@Gj message so that leap second pending messages are only reported if the data is associated with a future event. Added preliminary support for TCP/IP connection to CNS Clock II and other TCP/IP enabled GPS receivers. Updates so code is compatible with VS 2013. The graphics library files are still not working on VS2013, however. Fix @@Ba and @@Ea message display formats so they are like @@Ha. Local time is not supported by uBlox modules so disable for SSR boards. The seconds field in @@Ha, @@Ba, @@Ea, @@Hb now has a two digit integer field with leading zero. Satellites with Eb/No = 0 are no longer displayed to avoid conflict between the @@Ba, @@Ea, @@Ha messages and the @@Bb message. Implemented a mechanism so @@Ba, @@Ea and @@Ha can coexist without fighting over control of date elements and the and satellite screen. Reworded the DOP status line for six and eight channel Motorola receivers to prevent overflow and missing data on the display. Add the ability to load new firmware into SSR modules that have the bootloader using external HEX files. The Manual Command Dialog now remembers its last position on the screen and is restored there the next time it is open even if the program was shut down first. Version 2.7.11, August 22, 2012 =============================== Fix the default value for the @@Ga command in the manual command dialog. Fix the default value for the @@Gk command in the manual command dialog. Changed the default receiver delay to 37 nsec to match the newer CNS Clock IIs. Fixed the calculation of checksums for GPS binary log files. Add the @@Hr command in the manual command dialog and add a decoder for the @@Hr message. Corrected an error handling TIC data when the scalling factor is "s" (seconds). This also corrupted the TIC log. Added support for TICs with TCP/IP interfaces, especially the Agilent 53220A/53230A 350 MHz Universal Frequency Counter/Timer and the Berkeley Nucleonics Corporation MODEL 1105 400 MHz Universal Counter. Allow any serial port settings for most modes, This is to support unusual hardware configurations like modified a HP Z3801A with odd parity, 7 data bits, 1 stop bit, no handshaking, and 19200 baud rate. Correct a time initialization error for the Synergy SSR_6T receiver. Update the self survey warning text message. Correct a rounding error that caused a one second error in the time on rare occasions with new SSR series receivers. Version 2.7.10, February 06, 2012 ================================= Improve detection, initialization and mode switching for Synergy SSR-6T receivers. Correct the management of Motorola and iLotus receivers when switching between binary and NMEA modes. Reinitialize the manual command dialog entries when changing GPS receiver modes. Implemented a decoder for the @@Bd message. Set the @@Ci default parameter correctly in the manual command dialog. Provide NMEA support for u-blox receivers in the Manual Command dialog window. Implemented a checkbox in the GPS Receiver Serial Port Setting dialog box that will minimize the GPS receiver initialization. Use of this capability speed up the program startup and will preserve some special settings that may be in effect before start-up. However, the receiver mode (binary, NMEA, etc.) cannot be changed when this capability is activated. Assure that the Set Reference Location selections work correctly for receivers in the Motorola binary mode. These receivers must be in navigation (3D) mode before the position data is loaded and then must be returned to the selected mode. This is now handled automatically. Version 2.7.9, March 18, 2011 ============================= Implement support for the i-Lotus TX Oncore receiver. Correct an error that impeded correct startup in Motorola Binary if the serial port is set to other than 9600 baud. Corrected the order of fields in the @@Ha raw data output. Added reserved fields for completeness. Make Vehicle ID field visible at the end of the @@Ha decoded message even if blank by adding quotes Changed the sawtooth correction message at the beginning of the averaging files to differentiate between software sawtooth corrected data, raw data and external TIC data used in the file. Stop @@Hb from updating system parameters as it conflicts with @@Ha. Provide support for the Synergy Systems SSR-6T receiver. This receiver has the same footprint as an M12 series Motorola/iLotus receiver. The SSR-6T has a uBlox LEA-6T receiver that operates in uBox NMEA or Binary mode. A version of this board has a processor that permits emulation of M12 series messages as well as other modes. Added the @@Wb message to switch the SSR-6T from M12 to uBlox message mode.Added "@@Wc" to switch to the boot loader. Added a new checkbox in the manual reference location dialog box titled "Load reference location on program startup." The default is off. Changed the manual command dialog box to non-model so that it now allows the user to perform other functions outside this dialog box while the manual command dialog box is open. Corrected an error that caused a program crash when satellite PRN numbers greater than 32 were detected. These PRNs are associated primarily with augmentation satellites. Corrected a number of bugs that will improve the operation and stability of Tac32 and Tac32Plus. Ensure that all unused rows in the satellite data table are erased. Change the default elevation mask for Precision Timing mode to 10 degrees for all receiver types. Added a mode for CMC Superstar Rx Only. The TELNET function was not working in the UNICODE version of TAC32. This is now fixed. Implemented the new TELNET Get/Set Reference Position command. Corrected the header and data fields for the Motorola PVT format log so that the header correctly describes the log contents. Changed the order of some fields for consistancy between entries created by the @@Ha and the @@Hb messages from 12 channel receivers such as the M12M used by the current generation of CNS Clock II clocks. Improve the performance of the Navigation Status and Antenna Status panes in the Status Bar. Increase the number of recognized COM ports from 64 to 128. Enable Motorola Binary Rx Only mode for Tac32 and SynTac. Version 2.7.8, July 22, 2009 ============================ Implement support for the u-blox LEA-5T. Some serial port controllers would not work with the Time Interval Counter. This is fixed. Some serial port drivers produced faulty outputs for the 1PPS signal control lines. This is now managed correctly if it occurs. Spell out "Motorola" instead of using "Mot" (e.g., "Motorola Binary" replaces "Mot Bin". Improved the efficiency of processing certain Motorola Binary messages. Eliminate intermittent exception when closing the program. Version 2.7.7, May 08, 2009 =========================== Baud Rate mask change for Motorola Binary mode was not included in source control and so did not appear in all variations of Tac32 family software products. This is now fixed. Version 2.7.6, Jun 30, 2008 =========================== Merge Tac32Multi into Tac32Plus Updated the CMC hardware-software identification message (#45) decoder to reflect more recent message data specification and to display more information. Allow the correct display of PRN32 on the Satellite Az-El Chart. Allow use of any baud rate for any receiver. New models of some receivers are implementing new data rates. Fixed a memory leak. Version 2.7.5, Nov 11, 2007 =========================== Recognize the iLotus built M12M based on the new SiRF copyright notice. Change the "Bad Almanac" message to "Cold Start or Bad Almanac" for the M12 series receivers. Version 2.7.4, Aug 21, 2007 =========================== Added 100PPS support for the CNS Clock II. The CNS Clock II is unique in that it provides a precision 1PPS even when in 100PPS mode so that normal operations can continue in 100PPS mode. Correctly identify the new iLotus M12M receiver modules. These modules are designed by Motorola but built by iLotus. Added interim support for the SIGNAV TM3-1 receiver which is intended to be a Motorola M12 Timing receiver clone. CMC (Marconi) message receive was broken in Version 2.7.3 when converting to unicode and is now fixed. The CMC receiver's DGPS Status message was being derived from the wrong message thus giving false indications. Also, the CMC DGPS status tells if DGPS is enabled, not if it is being received, so the display message was changed. In decoding the CMC message 33 it was found that the satellite table was incompletely cleared resulting in unused satellites remaining on the screen and occasionally even showing duplicate satellites. This is now fixed. Identify CMC Allstar and Superstar receivers separately. Improve CMC receiver initialization, especially disabling undesired messages so that the Superstar correctly displays its data on TAC32's screens. Fix the defaut size of the main window for first time users. Version 2.7.3, Apr 5, 2006 =========================== UNICODE version of the software is now automatically installed on all 32-bit versions of Windows (NT/2000/XP/2003). This allows users with Japanese and Chinese versions of Windows to successfully enter passwords. Corrected a sign error in the UTC vs. GPS time message on the main screen. When a mode search fails, set the default mode to Motorola Binary ("mot bin") instead of generic NMEA so that first time users start up in the most used mode. Added support for the Motorola/i-Lotus M12M GPS timing receiver. When recording periodic GPS logs, provide the user the option to use the GPS second number instead of the UTC second number to avoid the effects of Leap Seconds on the log data set. Also provide the user the option to shift the period +/- one second to allow synchronization of log data with other data sources. Version 2.7.2, Dec 4, 2003 =========================== Make the NTP Status indicator work properly when there is no 1PPS. Oncore XT receivers are now correctly identified. These are receivers with part numbers starting with "A". If a Conexant or Navman Rx, print "CNXT/NVMN" on status line, not "Motorola CNXT". Set Tropo Corrections ON for precision Timing mode. Changed the default internal receiver delay to better match the values determined during the USNO calibration testing. This value is different for different versions of the CNS Clock. When RINEX log is open be sure range data messages are logged when logging period is longer than once per second (Motorola VP series 6 and 8 channel receivers only). When restarting TIC logs each day get new receiver information for the status log. Provide DOP Status messages for UT, UT+ and CNXT receivers. Added decoding of antenna sense bits in M12+ Self Test response. Add a menu selection for display of raw Time Interval Counter data in the main display window (Tac32Plus and Tac32Multi only). Provide complete decoding of the T-RAIM message for the M12+ (@@Hn). Provide manual control and full decoding for M12+ DSP message (@@Tr). Fixed RINEX logging so that its period correlates with the second number. Thus log entries for a 10-second period will occur at seconds 0, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50. Version 2.7.1, Sept 26, 2002 ============================ Oncore XT receivers are now correctly identified. These are receivers with part numbers starting with "A". Version 2.7.0, Sept 12, 2002 ============================ Update Help files to add instructions for Windows XP setup and for multiple instance setup. Change the function of the "?" button on the toolbar from accessing "About" to accessing "Help". [Tac32Plus only] Correct an error introduced in V2.6.0 that corrupted the response to the remote control request for average TIC data. [Tac32Multi Only] Remove all unused TIC Time and Average log files whenever the file set is closed. This prevents the build up of many unneeded files when not all TIC data ports are in use.
